Valentine's Burlap Wreath

I saw the idea on pinterest to use a pool noodle for a wreath form. It worked perfect. It was light weight and I could cut it to the desired size I wanted. I just used duct tape to connect the 2 ends.

I bought 1.5 yards of red Burlap.
Cut into 2'' x 20'' strips
tie double knot around wreath.
"squish" sections close together to cover upthe blue noodle (:

I had a little extra burlap so I cut some cute lil hearts to make the banner. I used the glue gun to attach the red hearts to the tan burlap rectangles.

Gumball Necklace (Yw Activity)

Here are a few of the cute necklaces my YW made at our activity. They all turned out soo cute I wish I had pictures of all of them!  The girls had a great time, and they were all so creative.
My sister in law gave me the idea. She had seen something on pinterest (HERE). They used a nail to drill the holes for but I thought a drill press would work much faster!

I bought the gumballs at Sams Club. I don't have  a membership so I got online and got a one day pass. Just google Sams club one day pass and get a reference number. The gumballs were $18.88 for a pack of 850. GREAT DEAL! I drilled 425 in about 40 minutes.

Step 1. Position drill press correctly. I used a 5/32 drill bit for the hole.
Step 2. Drill a hole all the way through the gumball. So you have a hole on both sides of gumball. I chose to drill right through the double bubble logo.
Step 3. I cut my ribbon to the length I wanted and threaded the end to a quilting needle. I only needed to thread it through a little bit.
Step 4.  Thread on gumballs. So easy!! On the one above we tied a little knot in between each gumball. But others we just threaded the gumballs right next to each other.

Arise and shine forth

I am introducing the theme for the year to the YW on Sunday. I am giving the girls these cute little light bulb jars along with the printable I made back in November. (2 printables with the new theme can be found HERE)
The idea came from Sugar doodle  (HERE) listed under birthday gift ideas for 2012

They have these light bulb jars at Hobby Lobby. They are regularly priced $1.99. I bought them when they were on sale 40% off. so they were about $1.20 each (:   Hobby Lobby will let you order the amt you need. I ordered mine on a Monday and they were in by Wednesday!

YW gift

We gave the YW in our ward these cute lil charm bracelets for Christmas this year. We will be giving them charms throughout the year. For things like new beginnings, Evening of Excellence, camp, certain lessons, Easter, their birthdays etc... I have found the cheapest place to get charms has been on etsy. The girls loved them, and are excited to start collecting their charms.
I got the bracelets at a local boutique called the Busy Biddy. The owner Janet is so stinkin cute and was so helpful!
