Lesson #15 lm2 Temple Marriage

I found some little business card holders a while ago and knew I'd use them sometime for a lesson. These were the little cards I put inside.

I put their names on the outside as well as April 2010 because I wanted them to fill out the cards on how they feel right now.

The Ingredient cards I asked the girls to write things about their future husbands that are a must for temple marriage (honoring their priesthood, a member of the church etc...)
And the Icing cards I asked the girls to write things about their future husbands that weren't really necessary for a temple marriage but a bonus (white teeth, sense of humor etc..)

The card with the picture of the ring I told them to describe or cut out a picture of what they want their ring to look like.
The card with the picture of the temple I told them to write what temple they would like to get married in.
On the outside of the little holder I mod podged a picture of the temple and wrote "I'm going there some day"

Lesson #14 lm2 The Blessings of the Temple

I just printed off a picture of each girls favorite temple with the quote from the lesson by President Gordon B Hinckley. I just did a google search and found images that I liked. The picture of the Manti Temple was found here. It is taken by Rick Satterfield

Mod Podge Shoes

I saw this idea on MOD PODGE ROCKS a while ago.

The ideas came from Oops I craft my pants & Make It and Love it. I've been wanting to try them for a while and found a little time today. They were SOO easy! I don't know how long they'll last but Hey, they were going in the trash anyway!

I saw this cute idea on eighteen25. I didn't have to teach this week because we had youth conference so I took my girls this cute inexpensive lil Easter Treat. I had extra peeps so I made some for my visiting teachers too.

Lesson #10 & #11 lm2 Blessings of the Priesthood & Appreciating the Bishop

I taught both of these lessons this week. And since both lessons were about the men in our church I made these cute little paper shirts for their handout. I thought it would be fun but I had no idea how to make one so I just looked up Paper shirt on You Tube. This was the clip I found the easiest to follow SEE HERE

On the back of the shirt I glued this little paper that had things we are blessed with because of the priesthood. It was the list found in the manual. I used an 8.5''x11'' paper for the shirt and a 4''x4'' paper for the paper to glue.

I then taught the girls how to make the little shirts and told them to write a thank-you note to either the bishop or their dads.

Lesson #9 A young woman as a peacmaker in her home

I first had the girls make a list of things that had made them angry in the week. Then a list of things that made them happy.
I used a lot of President Monsons talk on Finding Peace SEE HERE

I liked this quote:

We then talked about ways to feel peace. I used the 3 things President Monson suggested in his talk.

Search Inward, Reach outward, and Look heavenward. We discussed ways we could do each of those things.

I then talked about why the dove is a symbol of peace (Noah's arc).

I made these little door hangers for the girls to be reminded to be Peacemakers in their homes.

I ordered this but I didn't get it in time to stamp my own. But I found these cute little charms at Michaels. It came in a pack of 5 and the birds were all different. It was more than I usually like to spend for my lessons but still only cost me about $0.45 each. the girls loved them.

YW birthday Gift

I was out of town last week and I don't teach on Fast Sundays so I decided to post what I have been doing for the girls birthdays this year.

Gratitude Journals

These are so easy to make all you need is : (4 ) 12x12 cardstock, adhesive, and some cute scrapbook paper.


In the cellophane bag a i put:
1- The cute accordion Gratitude Journal
2- The YW's favorite treat
3-some 4x5 note cards
4-a copy of THIS talk. It is by President Henry B Eyring.
5-Instructions for their journal: Every month for a year find something you are grateful for and either take a picture or write about it on one of the note cards. Glue it into the journal.

I forgot to take pictures while i was making it but I just found a good Tutorial on how to make the accordion books.

YW lesson #7 lm2 Love and Harmony in our Homes

I found this cute quote and thought it went perfect with this weeks lesson. It is a song by the Four Lads

We wrote thank you notes to members of our families so I thought these flower pens would work great. I bought the flowers I used at the dollar store. They came in a bunch of 6 flowers for $1.

I love the books "Quote Unquote". They are by Autumn Leaves.. I bought them for scrap booking but have used them several times for my lessons. They are around $19 at Roberts so use your 40% coupon (:

YW lesson #6 lm2 Sharing Work in the Home

We talked a lot about how we each go about sharing work in the home. We talked about all the little ways we can help out around the house. Simply picking up after our selves.

I made the girls these YUMMY white chocolate dipped oreos. I just bought almond bark from Maceys melted it down and then dipped double Stuffed oreos into the chocolate. Topped them off with some pink sprinkles.

Post-it notes

I made the little post-it note and then my sis-in-law told me about this cute little box idea on Becky Higgins blog. Becky even has the pdf file you can download and print the cute card about the season of LOVE! She also has additional cards to print (a blank card, a scripture card, etc...)

1- cut scrapbook paper (cardstock) 3.25''x6.5''
2- cut a different patterned paper 3.25''x2''

3-Glue your smaller piece (my polka dot) to your larger piece (cute flowers) in the middle of the large paper. (I also added the cute little bracket paper on top of the polka dot)
4-wrap your papers around your post-it note stack and then make your creases crisp.
5-put a glue dot on the back of your post-it note stack and adhere to your cute paper cover
6-EMBELLISH (i added a little ribbon, and a felt flower).
I had made these for one of my YW lessons too (See here) You could make them for anything. They are fast, and cheap but they look cute.
