Adorable dresses

A few more dresses we'll be selling at the Bijou Market. These are all the same style dress with different accessories.

ruffle skirts

We will have a ton of skirts at Bijou Market. In about every color  Red, blue, taupe, black, purple, white, etc.. Perfect for winter with a cute pair of leggings.

Cute lil doll

Isn't this the cutest little doll. Becca is making them for our booth at Bijou. I love them!

Chevron quilt

I just finished my first quilt. I can now cross that off the ol' bucket list. But now that it's done I'm trying to decide what to quilt next.  It definitely isn't  perfect but I'm happy with it! I had saved a blog post from a few years ago  over at Purlbee and decided to give it a try. I did mine alittle bigger and alittle different.

 For my bright colored patterned pieces I used Moda's Oh My line. I don't know what fabric the cream and yellow polka dot fabric is. I liked the contrast of the bright colors and the cream.

Cut your fabric in 5'' squares

 With a pencil draw a line down the middle of your square.

 Using your presser foot as a guide, sew down each side of your pencil line.

 Then  press the seams to set them. I think that's what quilters say? But really I have no idea what i'm doing! I did this about 252 times. (: At first I didn't have the cream/yellow polka dot border, but my quilt seemed alittle too small. I was out of the Oh My fabric so I decided to just do the border.
Next line them all up and start sewing. I did it a row at a time. My quilt is 18 squares by 14 squares. I forgot to take pictures of those last few steps. i guess I was in too big of a hurry to get it done!

 I bought some turquoise sheets at Walmart for the back of my quilt.  I had a cute lady I know do the  top embroidery machine stitch.

Now i just need to figure out what I'm doing with it.

Field Day

We have this ugly little field by our house. Every time I drive by it I want to stop and go expoloring with the kids. I loved playing in the field when I was little.  So today I stopped and we ran through the ugly field. It was so much fun.

I made Brighty this cute lil Washington Husky as my husband calls it dress. I made it out of

Ruffle Fabric. I guess I'm a little obsessed (:

All dressed up

Another Jcrew inspired dress. I had seen a beautiful grey ruffled dress online but call me crazy, I didn't want to spend $198 for a toddlers dress. So again Jane came to the rescue! I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out. She sorta used simplicity pattern 2709 but tweeked it A-LOT!!

We're lovin all the ruffles. Look at this beautiful Easter dress for my adorable/sweet/funny/ niece. It turned out beautiful. Thanks for being such a super model ms. S!

3 little birds

A cute little spring dish towel using your scraps of cute fabric.

1-cut any shape out of scraps of fabric (we chose birds)

2- Use Iron-on pellon to applique the birds to the dishtowel

3-Hand stitch (we used embroidery thread) around applique. you could definately machine stitch too.

4-Embellish!!

What a cute little spring addition to your kitchen, or quick gift for a friend or neighbor.

And way way cheaper than $18 dishtowels from Anthropologie see HERE!

{Ruffle} accessories

Flower Headband

Cute little wristlet.

Step. 1 Cut fabric. I used one ruffle off Ruffle Fabric and some matching organza. Both cut 2'' wide by length of fabric. For the little wristlet I cut the ruffle in 1/2 so it was 1'' step 2. Gather stitch the 2 fabrics together. I sewed the ruffle on top and had the organza stick out about 1/4''. U step 3. Gather step 4. Start rolling fabric in a circle step 5. glue gun a piece of felt to the back of your rolled flower step 6. burn little whispies on organza with a match. This will help keep it from fraying. For the headband we made 2 and glue gunned them to a plastic headband. We put them pretty close together so it would squish the flowers together. For the wristlet we glue gunned onto 2'' wide elastic. For the flower on THIS DRESS we sewed a broach pin on the back so we can remove the flower to wash the dress.

15-minute skirt

This skirt took about 15-minutes from start to finish and probably end up costing $5 or less. I had leftover fabric from THIS dress

Ruffle Dress

I found this adorable online fabric store.

RUFFLE FABRIC

Their customer service was amazing, and oh so friendly. I couldn't decide on a color and the nice woman told me the ice blue was so pretty in person. I took her word for it and

I LOVE it!

I bought 1 yard to test it out. It is $17.99 a yard. I was able to get a dress, a cute skirt (see my tutorial HERE). hair bow & Wristlet (see my tutorial HERE), belt, and another dress or skirt (i can't decide).

Jane whipped up this beautiful dress. I figured it probably cost a total of $6.00 to make.

(I had seen these dresses at JCREW. They are $69.50.)

And my cute little model. It was suppose to be her Easter dress but I don't think I can wait that long. She loves it and thinks she's Cinderella when she wears it.
