1st attempt
Learning to sew is definitely on my bucket list. After watching a YouTube clip of an oriental lady teaching me in Chinese how to do pleats, i finished brighty's cute lil skirt.

YW lesson #34 lm1 Worthy Thoughts
I put a candy watch in each of the little boxes. We had a little time at the end of the lesson so I taught the girls how to make boxes. 
I thought the box would help tie in the Banana and Monkey Story by President Kimball

"I am reminded of an article I read some years ago about a group of men who had gone to the jungles to capture monkeys. They tried a number of different things to catch the monkeys, including nets. But finding that the nets could injure such small creatures, they finally cam upon an ingenious solution. They built a large number of small boxes, and in the top of each they bored a hole just large enough for a monkey to get his hand into. They then set these boxes out under the trees and in each one they put a nut that the monkeys were particularly fond of.
When the men left, the monkeys began to come down from the trees and examine the boxes. Finding that there were nuts to be had, they reached into the boxes to get them. But when a monkey would try to withdraw his hand with the nut, he could not get his hand out of the box because his little fist, with the nut inside, was now too large.
At about this time, the men would come out of the underbrush and converge on the monkeys. And the men coming, they would shriek and scramble about with the thought of escaping; but as easy as it would have been, they would not let go of the nut so that they could withdraw their hands from the boxes and thus escape. The men captured them easily.
And so it often seems to be with people, having such a firm grasp on things of the world -- that which is telestial -- that no amount of urging and no degree of emergency can persuade them to let go in favor of that which is celestial. Satan gets them in his grip easily. If we insist on spending all our time and resources building up for ourselves in worldly kingdom, that is exactly what we will inherit.
In spite of our delight in defining ourselves as modern, and our tendency to think we possess a sophistication that no people in the past ever had -- in spite of these things, we are, on the whole, an idolatrous people -- a condition most repugnant to the Lord.
. . . It may seem a little difficult at first, but when a person begins to catch a vision of the true work when he begins to see something of eternity in its true perspective, the blessings begin to far outweigh true perspective, the blessings begin to far outweigh the cost of leaving "the world" behind.
Herein lies the only true happiness, and therefore we invite and welcome all men, everywhere, to join in this work. For those who are determined to serve the Lord at all costs, this is the way to eternal life. All else is but a means to that end."

This was for a friends Baby shower. My mom helped me make all these adorable pompoms. I then got baby pictures of my friend and her husband and copied them to black and white.YW lesson #33m1 Avoiding Degrading Media Influences
I found these little baskets at the dollar store and they were 2 for $1. I filled it with microwave Popcorn (movies), Pop Rocks (music), Nerds (magazines, and books). We discussed the influence of all these types of media we are surrounded by.

Yea, A lesson I actually know a little about! I had fun preparing for this lesson because I ♥ the subject!

One day a man said to God, “God, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.
God showed the man two doors. Inside the first one, in the middle of the room, was a large round table with a large pot of stew. It smelled delicious and made the man’s mouth water, but the people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.
The man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. God said, "You have seen Hell."
Behind the second door, the room appeared exactly the same. There was the large round table with the large pot of wonderful stew that made the man's mouth water. The people had the same long-handled spoons, but they were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.
The man said, "I don't understand."
God smiled. “It is simple,” He said, “Love only requires one skill. These people learned early to feed one another. Those who are hungry are greedy people, and they think only of themselves.

I had some fabric scraps that I couldn't bear to throw away so I made this cute lil' apron. It was so fun & So easy
YW lesson #29 lm1 The Second Coming
I focused more on being prepared for the second coming and that if we are prepared we shouldn't be fearful.
At the beginning of class I gave each girl an envelope with their name on it. I then read a little from Mary Ellen Smoot, “Come, Let Us Walk in the Light of the Lord,” Ensign, Nov 1998, 89

I’ve always loved receiving invitations. Do you? Do you ever like to imagine someday you will be invited to something grand, some even that will acknowledge your significance, your immeasurable worth? The anticipation is at least as much fun as the event itself. Even the mundane tasks add excitement and meaning when you prepare and plan for an event to which you’ve been invited to. To this day, any envelope arriving in our mail that even resembles an invitation is the first to be opened.
The invitations we receive from the scriptures, the prophets, and the Holy Ghost are invitations we can count on. They give us direction, peace, comfort and joy. A still, small voice speaks to us and encourages righteous living. We must listen carefully to his beckoning and search our souls. As we do, clouds of darkness will dispel, and the glorious light of God will fill or beings.
Invitations from the Lord are VITAL. They guide us back to our Heavenly Father and lead us in the way of truth and righteousness. Truly they acknowledge or infinite worth as daughters of God. They are so lovingly personalized. They come form our Heavenly Father. He speaks to us in a language of invitations: “Come unto me,” “Follow me,” “Come Ye.”
Please Chose to RSVP To Gods’ Important Invitations.
On the Inside of their invitations it had RSVP I told them throughout the lesson to write important words that began with each of those letters. They had some pretty great things written down.
I made each girl a necklace with their name engraved on it. I think they ended up costing me $0.25 each. On the back of each necklace I engraved RSVP so they would remember to prepare!

I had a cute neighbor ask if I would come take some pictures of her flowers. They made her happy and she knew they were nearing the end of their season.
